To the current & future users of PsychicVampire.org forums,
An open letter to you, from us, your moderators. I would preface this with the question "Why are you here" but I think the answer is probably pretty obvious; you have come here because you are interested in psychic vampirism, possibly you even identify as a psychic vampire yourself. That is wonderful, as our goal in creating this site and forum is to provide a resource for those newly Awakened and experienced alike, and a place to connect.
This site is dedicated to the mysteries and Education of Psychic Vampirism. The Vampire Community is a diverse lot, with many different beliefs and belief systems. While this Site does not promote any one doctrine, the best efforts are made and maintained in order to represent them all equally. This site, written by Psychic Vampires; is dedicated to all other real Psychic Vampires from the newly awakened, to the seasoned Elders of the Vampire Community. This site is also meant to inform the public, and to dispell certain myths about Vampires.
However, we have witnessed the...focus of the forums recently moving in a direction that we feel takes away from our proposed goal, which concerns us. The most popular forums have been the ones that deal not with providing guidance to new vampires, but the ones for randomness or silly things. Even serious topics have developed a tendency to derail. While we are happy that you have found people you feel comfortable enough to be silly with, make tasteless jokes, and socialize with, some users have reported that they are drifting away from the boards because it is rare something of value is posting and they have limited time. Posting with such off-topic things is technically, in a sense, "spamming" the board, which is something the moderators do not tolerate. PsychicVampire.org is not VampireFreaks, or MySpace, whose goals are primarily socializing. If you only wish to discuss social or non-vampiric related topics, please go there. Or feel free to use the sister forum that Myrbree has set up for sheer silliness and social bonanzas, at:
http://www.phpbb88.com/thepaddedroom/ The Asylum topics and some of the other more random areas will still be open for posting craziness, but those are meant to be auxiliary forums for occasional rants, not the main place to post. Please take a look at your posting habits and if you find yourself posting more in these silly or random areas, ask yourself if this is really the right forum for you to be participating in.

So your moderators ask of you to please consider before posting "Is what I am about to write on-topic and in keeping with the main purpose of the board?" If the answer is "Probably not" or "No", please post your topic on another board that is more appropriate or save it for a PM or chat. While we do not want to become PV dictators, if the constant "spamming" of the board causes well-meaning seekers to be chased away because they perceive a lack of useful information, we will begin to crack down and delete topics and threads that take away from the true value of this resource.
